Bryce’s Treehouse Inaugural International Overdose Awareness Day
Sunday, August 30, 2026 | 2:00–5:00 p.m.
Formal Program Begins: 3:00 p.m.
Kenhill Center
2614 Kenhill Drive
Bowie, MD 2071

About the Afternoon

From 2:00–3:00 p.m., attendees will participate in an interactive community experience featuring behavioral health and community resource partners, Truth Pharm’s Trail of Truth Maryland memorial tombstones, community tombstone painting, Remembrance Trees, refreshments, and opportunities for families and community members to connect.

At approximately 3:00 p.m., we will gather everyone for our formal program.

Our first panel will center more deeply on lived experience, family, grief, stigma, and healing.

Our second panel will move the conversation toward recovery, solutions, hope, and action. This is where I believe Secretary Keller’s statewide and systems-level perspective would be especially valuable.

We will conclude the afternoon with a community memorial and candle-lighting ceremony centered around three intentions:

We Remember — those we have lost to overdose and substance use disorder.
We Stand With — those currently experiencing substance use disorder and the families and loved ones walking alongside them.
We Celebrate — those courageously walking the path of recovery as we prepare to enter National Recovery Month in September.
