SUMMARY:TrashBash Fundraiser
DESCRIPTION:Washington Goes Purple Trash Bash \n\n\n\n\nAt Washington Goes Purple’s Trash Bash\, we believe that everything—and everyone—has value. Just as discarded materials can be transformed into something beautiful\, people\, no matter their past or struggles\, have worth and potential. \nThis unique fundraiser brings the community together to create art from “trash”—upcycled and repurposed materials. Teams will craft one-of-a-kind pieces that will be auctioned off\, with proceeds supporting the Washington Goes Purple Scholarship Fund. \nThrough this event\, we aim to reduce stigma surrounding substance use disorder and recovery. Much like the materials used in the artwork\, people deserve a second chance\, a fresh start\, and the opportunity to be seen for their strengths—not just their past. \nJoin us in celebrating creativity\, resilience\, and the power of transformation. Because discards have value—just like people. 💜♻️ \nEvent details: \nDate & Time: May 10th | 11am – 4pm \nCost: $50 (write check out to the Community Foundation and Memo WGP\, you can drop off your check at the Health Dept. on Burhans Blvd anytime Monday-Friday 8-4). \nLocation: 27-37 West Antietam Street\, Hagerstown MD (parking lot owned by Hager 5\, LLC beside Meritus Park)

SUMMARY:9th Annual Recovery Gratitude Banquet
DESCRIPTION:We’re excited to invite you to an unforgettable evening of hope\, celebration\, and community impact at our 9th Annual Recovery Gratitude Banquet\, taking place on Friday\, May 16 at the Singerly Fire Hall in Elkton\, Maryland. This special event is our largest fundraiser of the year\, and we need your support to make it a success! \nAt this year’s Banquet\, we’ll honor individuals who have made a significant impact in the fight against addiction and overdose deaths in Cecil and Harford Counties. Together\, we’ve made progress—though the journey is far from over. In 2024\, Cecil County saw a 37.5% decrease in overdose deaths\, with 25 lives lost compared to 40 in 2023. These strides are due in large part to community efforts like ours\, and we are committed to continuing this important work. \nVoices of Hope is a local nonprofit leading the charge with innovative programs that engage and support individuals struggling with addiction. From outreach and Narcan distribution to connecting people with life-saving treatment\, we are there every day\, 24/7. In fact\, we’re proud to be recognized nationally for our progressive approach to recovery services. \nBy supporting our Recovery Gratitude Banquet\, you’re helping provide essential recovery resources\, training\, and tools to individuals and families affected by addiction. These funds help people access treatment\, reconnect with loved ones\, and rebuild lives.
